Summer Crush is a series of paintings that take us back to the sensations of summer.
A universe of memories that evoke paradisiacal places, sunny days and festive nights at beach clubs that define the hottest season of the year. This new series of paintings by Duma is unique in its retro vibe, an homage to the golden decades spanning the 60s to the 70s. Where sunglasses with vibrant lenses and elegant swimwear were style icons that echoed Hollywood.

The red ribbon means life, which brings us together and connects us through feelings, but often passes by us imperceptibly through time. Time that we really feel when things wear out, like an old book. The roots and branches refer to our past, to our culture, which nowadays presents itself with many differences and transformations with almost a lack of connection with nature.
Tomorrow

An idea of the future. An avant-garde and technological environment. The volume of the figures is presented by well-defined gradations of shadow, in a very graphic and clean way, referring to the idea of the digital world. Duma's work focuses mainly on the female figure, portraying in a typically enigmatic way. In her paintings, the introduction of black bars is recurrent, that emerge from the idea of a cinemascope, as if a frame was frozen from a film, representing a life, a character... a story.
Golden Age

The "Golden Age". Reconstruction and transformation. The creation of the beauty and elegance that comes from the revolution. As in the Japanese Kintsugi, gold covers the fissures, or wounds, of something broken and transforms everyday experiences into a celebration of life. Imperfection becomes a new force, essence, and wealth, and a paradoxical beauty in imperfection is discovered. What breaks in us makes us unique, distinct, irreplaceable.
